Michelle Caruso-Cabrera is an American business news General Assignment Reporter for CNBC television. She formerly co-hosted the Worldwide Exchange program airing from 4-6am ET (along with Christine Tan in Asia and Ross Westgate in Europe). Caruso-Cabrera announced her departure from the show on 2007-10-19. CNBC.com credited Caruso-Cabrera as a General Assignment Reporter.

As part of CNBC's extensive market coverage, Caruso-Cabrera started appearing regularly on Power Lunch in an analyst capacity. She had previously co-anchored that same program with Bill Griffeth from 2002 to 2003. Caruso-Cabrera was replaced as an anchor by Sue Herera.

Life and career

Ms. Caruso-Cabrera graduated from Wellesley College in 1991 with a degree in economics. Prior to joining CNBC in 1998, she worked as a reporter for WTSP-TV in St. Petersburg, Florida, and prior to that, as a reporter and later as a special projects producer for Univision where she won an Emmy Award for a five-part series on children with AIDS.[1] She also received a Broadcaster of the Year (2004) award from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.[2]

In 2010, she wrote a book titled You Know I'm Right: More Prosperity, Less Government.[3]

Recently, while discussing European-style health care on CNBC she opined, "Yeah, but those people all live in small houses and I like my big house and I don't want to give it up and live in a country where the people smell bad."
